Ing. James Saio Dumbuya was born in April 1966. He is one of the oldest members of staff of the Bureau and was with it during the istitution's crippling stage. He was appointed Executive Director of the Sierra Leone Standards Bureau on the 1st December 2008. He holds a Masters Degree in Industrial Engineering; an integrated course covering Mechanical, Electrical, Quality Control and strong course content in Management at the University of Las Villas, Santa Clara, Villa Clara, Republic of Cuba. He served as Manager of the Metrology Department between May 200 and November 2008. In January 2006, Ing Dumbuya became a member of the Sierra Leone Professional Engineering Council. He has attended many conferences relating to engineering, Standardization, metrology and a Multi Thematic workshop on Development of the Regional Efficient Lighting Strategy in ECOWAS among others in Africa and the Diaspora. Ing. Dumbuya is happily married and blessed with two children. His hobbies are sports, research and listening to news and current affairs.
